In this dissertation, I focus on the psychedelic period and all the forms that characterize it. I begin with the album cover Disraeli Gears by the band Cream. I discuss the work of designers such as Martin Sharp and Mouse & Kelley, among others. More than just graphic designers, they were deeply engaged in their practice and helped bring communities to light through new visual forms. I also explore the practice of fanzines and self-publishing.
